Transportation Seminar Series
Interim Findings of the Southwest Demonstration Study

Feb 2, 2009 (10:00 - 11:00 a.m., IACC 422)

Mounting challenges facing public transportation and education providers in southwest North Dakota have resulted in a new, region-wide willingness to reorganize transportation resources. This innovative coordinated effort, the Southwest Demonstration, is intended to improve the efficiency of area public and pupil transportation systems as well as employ appropriate technology to achieve its goals. In order for the system to become operational in a timely and efficient manner, thoughtful planning and consideration is needed. Barriers to joint provision of student-public transportation, a review of the systems engineering process, and interim study findings of the study will be presented.
