Gina Blazanin will receive the Charles E. Herman Scholarship, which recognizes academic achievement and promotes the education of transportation students with a preference to women and minorities at NDSU.
Blazanin is a senior in civil engineering from Bloomington, MN. At NDSU she has been involved in the Engineering Ambassadors, the Steel Bridge Design Team, the Society of Women Engineers, and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. She has been named to the Dean's List for six semesters. She was a teaching assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering and is currently a research assistant with the department now. Earlier this year, she was a civil engineering intern with an Italian engineering company. After graduation, she may pursue a master's degree and ultimately enter a career that allows her to design roadways and bridges. Her parents are Steve and Mary Blazanin.
