Final Report Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identify transportation issues and research needs from a geographical and institutional perspective. The four areas of emphasis as suggested by the title are as follows: 1) The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, its creation, governance, purpose and a comparison with other transportation research institutes; 2) future transportation issues in the United States as well as the world; 3) research needs from a geographical or regional perspective; and 4) research needs from an institutional perspective.
