Abstract

The general objective of this study is to determine the extent of the use of the transit privilege by grain handlers in the Upper Great Plains region. The specific objectives are: 1) to identify and analyze the determinants of the use of transit by a grain marketing firm; 2) to identify and describe the characteristics of firms that have transit accounts; and 3) to identify and analyze the cost of providing the transit privilege.
