Abstract

This effort responds to a North Dakota League of Cities request for a study of the transportation needs of the largest 14 urban centers in the state. The study was funded by the North Dakota League of Cities and the North Dakota Department of Transportation. The North Dakota League of Cities, along with the 14 largest cities, funded the data-gathering process and the North Dakota Department of Transportation funded the analysis. The study format was based on previous Assessment of ND County and Local Road Needs reports and details costs associated with upkeep of the current urban systems. The study focuses on roadways classified as collector and above not maintained by the North Dakota Department of Transportation or respective counties. The document is a final draft, subject to additional comments from participating cities. It is now available for presentation to the North Dakota Legislature. Previous draft cost summaries have been reviewed by the North Dakota League of Cities, North Dakota Department of Transportation, and the participating city roadway managers.
