Title:Query Central (QC)

Abstract

QC is a secure intranet web application that provides Federal and State Safety Enforcement personnel with a single location where they can enter one query and obtain targeted safety data on commercial motor vehicle (CMV) carriers, vehicles, and drivers from multiple sources.

QC does not maintain a database of its own, but instead pulls data from the authoritative source in real-time. The data is specific to the needs of Safety Enforcement personnel and includes automated summaries and alerts to free staff from reading through data to determine if there may be issues. Result data can auto populate Aspen to increase data integrity for inspections.

Carrier queries can be run based on US DOT number, MC/MX number, Mexico's RFC number, or the carrier's name. The application then goes out to multiple data sources, to retrieve data on the specified carrier. Sources include MCMIS, PRISM, Mexico's SCT and LIFIS systems, SAFER, and L&I. Data includes carrier census, Out-of-Service Orders, Inspection Selection System values, past inspections, CMV registration, operating authority, and insurance.

Vehicle queries can be run based on vehicle plate and State, or VIN number. QC retrieves data from PRISM, SAFER, and Mexico's SCT system. Data includes vehicle registration, past inspections, and the carrier registered for safety.

Driver queries are run based on CDL number and State. Data sources include SAFER, Canada and U.S. Department of Motor Vehicles through the CDLIS system, and Mexico's LIFIS system. Data includes CDL status and history, as well as past inspections.

This QC site may be accessed and used free of charge by authorized FMCSA and State Safety Enforcement personnel.
