Abstract

In conjunction with the University of Cincinnati, the University of California-Los Angeles, and eScience & Technology Solutions (eSTS), the goal of this project was to enhance the ability of states to maintain compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) 49 CFR 383 (CDL Standards) and 49 CFR 384 (State Compliance with CDL). The study identified challenges and issues, conducted a needs assessment, and assessed the current use of available resources. Additional research activities included working with stakeholders to identify and develop potential program enhancements and then pilot testing these enhancements.
