Download High-ResLexis Orn, a senior in civil engineering from Bismarck, ND, is the secretary for the NDSU chapter of the Society of Women Engineers and has been involved in the NDSU College of Engineering Industry Connections programs. She has participated in the Let’s Dance Studio competitive dance team and the Science Olympiad and volunteered with the Great Plains Food Bank. Orn, valedictorian of her graduation class at Bismarck Century High School, has been named to the NDSU Dean’s List multiple times and maintained a 4.0 grade point average. She is a student design assistant with the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute’s Department of Transportation Support Center. Orn was an engineering intern with the engineering firm Bartlett & West. Following graduation, she plans to become a professional engineer in either the public or private sector, where she hopes to work on road- and bridge-related projects that will improve the condition and quality of North Dakota’s transportation infrastructure.
