Download High-ResPayton Rude, a junior in civil engineering from West Fargo, ND, is a member and director of administration and service chairman of Farmhouse Fraternity. He also serves as vice president of the NDSU Steel Bridge team and is the social events coordinator for the NDSU chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Rude has made the NDSU Dean’s List multiple times and maintained a 4.0 grade-point average. Rude worked for Mid America Steel in Fargo, ND, the past two summers and has also been an umpire for Fargo Youth Baseball, a cashier at Cash Wise Foods, and a part-time employee of the West Fargo Park District’s Rustad Recreation Center. Following graduation, Rude plans to work for an engineering consulting company, where he hopes to improve transportation infrastructure through the implementation of new technology, particularly drones, and the use of new materials such as self-healing concrete.
