Vanderheiden is a senior in civil engineering from St. Michael, MN. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers and Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. She is currently the NDSU student chapter president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. She has been named to the dean's list every semester since Fall 2013. She is a student design assistant with UGPTI's Department of Transportation Support Center and plans to work for the North Dakota Department of Transportation as a design engineer following graduation. She also plans to attain her designation as a Professional Engineer.
