UGPTI Researchers Receive Patriot Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve ProgramPosted: Dec 11, 2023 Pictured from L to R: Raj Bridgelall, Alan Dybing, Dave Johnston, Seguy Tchakounte-Wakem, Mike Haugen.Two researchers with the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute at NDSU were recently recognized for their support of a captain in the Minnesota Army Reserve. Alan Dybing and Raj Bridgelall received Patriot Awards from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program. The researchers were nominated by Seguy Tchakounte-Wakem, a research specialist at UGPTI and company commander of the 203rd Inland Cargo Transfer Company located at Arden Hills, MN. The 203rd is a part of the Transportation and Logistics Branch of the U.S. Army. Tchakounte-Wakem wrote in his nomination, "In this challenging year of army requirements, my supervisors have exhibited unparalleled support and guidance. Their unwavering dedication not only facilitated the successful navigation of the rigorous demands, but also fostered an environment of growth and resilience." He added, "Their commitment goes beyond mere supervision; it is a testament of their genuine concern for the well-being and success of those serving in the military." Mike Haugen, former adjutant general of the North Dakota National Guard, and Dave Johnston, retired captain from the U.S. Navy, presented the awards. Both men are volunteers with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program, which is a part of the U.S. Department of Defense. |
