UGPTI Researcher Named to Board of Directors for Heartland ExpressPosted: Nov 7, 2023 Brenda Lantz, associate director of NDSU’s Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute was recently named to the board of directors of Heartland Express, a trucking company based in North Liberty, IA. Lantz has extensive research experience focusing on commercial vehicle safety. "Heartland Express has an excellent reputation and a great safety record," she said. "I'm excited to learn more about the strategies they use to operate safely and provide ideas and input to help them continue their successful operations." In addition to her role as associate director, Lantz also serves as program director for UGPTI's Commercial Vehicle Safety Center. She serves as a point of contact for universities, law enforcement, and other agencies seeking assistance to establish partnerships to improve commercial vehicle safety in the U.S. Western region. She also conducts safety-related research and analysis. Heartland Express is an irregular route truckload carrier based in North Liberty, Iowa, serving customers throughout the United States and Mexico. Heartland focuses primarily on regional freight. |
