Exploring Interactions Between Traditional Transit and Microtransit

Posted: May 2, 2022

Researchers at the University of Utah studied microtransit, riders' use of ride-sharing and short-term rentals of cars, bikes, and scooters, as a way to access traditional transit to learn how it enhances mobility and its impact on transit system use. Their work will help determine the feasibility of establishing or expanding microtransit programs, improve travel demand modeling, and enhance microtransit and traditional transit operations to better serve riders.
