Mohammad Smadi, associate research fellow with UGPTI's Advanced Traffic Analysis Center, was recently invited to speak at the October meeting of the NDSU student chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. His presentation on intelligent transportation systems (ITS) covered the newest developments in the field, especially in the area of connected vehicles. He also gave a synopsis of ITS applications in North Dakota and highlighted previous and current ITS projects at ATAC with a focus on the curve speed warning application being developed for the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
