Student to Present Research at Visualization SymposiumPosted: Jun 8, 2017 Ali Rahim Taleqani, an NDSU transportation and logistics PhD student, will present his research at the 8th International Visualization in Transportation Symposium: Visualization in Action July 27-28 in Washington, D.C. Taleqani will present a poster titled "Flight delays and cancellations: What's behind the numbers." The research examines flight delays and the factors that play a significant role in them such as weather conditions, airport congestion, or airline congestion. This study uses machine learning techniques to understand the meaning behind this data. Findings from the research may help the airline industry improve performance. The Symposium is organized by the Transportation Research Board, a part of the National Academies of Science. |
