Transportation Equity Act for the Twenty-first Century (TEA-21)
Legislation passed in 1998, which authorized approximately $217 billion for highways, highway safety, and mass transportation. It was originally in effect until FY 2003 and then was continued until the passage of SAFETEA-LU in 2005.
