Capt. John Hahn
Commander, Hazardous Materials Section
Colorado State Patrol

Captain John Hahn is a 21-year veteran of the Colorado State Patrol (CSP). Captain Hahn serves as the commander of the CSP Hazardous Materials Section in charge of hazmat enforcement and response across the State of Colorado. His role also involves promulgation of rules related to the transportation of hazmat on Colorado's roads as well as industry enforcement and outreach with hazmat carriers across the state.

Captain Hahn is a member of the board of directors for the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) serving as the current Region III president and is chair for the Alliance's Policy and Regulatory Affairs Committee. In addition, Hahn also chairs the CVSA working group on hemp transportation and is also a member of the Colorado Hemp Advancement and Management Plan (CHAMP) working group. This governor's initiative is a broad stakeholder effort in Colorado intended to define a well-structured and defined supply chain for hemp in order to establish a strong market for the state's farming communities.

Captain Hahn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation technology from Metropolitan State University and is a graduate of the 267th session of the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University. Hahn resides in the Denver area with his wife and three children.
