Tom Keane
Director, Office of Safety Programs
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Tom has been with the U.S. Department of Transportation for 25 years, and with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for 17 years. Tom currently serves as the Director, Office of Safety Programs under the Associate Administrator for Enforcement for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. In this capacity, he oversees the agency's $375 million grants programs, including the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP), the High Priority Grant, the Commercial Driver's License Program Improvement Grants, and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grants. Additionally, he oversees the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Division and the North American Borders Division. Prior to his current position, Tom also served as the Director of FMCSA's Eastern Service Center, Chief of the FMCSA State Programs Division, and Chief of the FMCSA Analysis Division. Tom graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Applied Economics.
