Undergraduate MPC Researcher Honored at Utah State University

Joshua Ward, an undergraduate researcher at Utah State University, was recently named the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering 2021 Undergraduate Researcher of the Year and the 2021 Undergraduate Researcher of the Year for the USU College of Engineering.

In part, the awards recognize his work on MPC project 559, "Identifying Effective Behavior Change Strategies for Poor Air Quality Events in Northern Utah." Principal investigators on the project are MPC researchers Patrick Singleton and Ziqi Song.

Ward has been an undergraduate research assistant in the department since 2018. He also serves as the engineering tutor manager in USU's Engineering Tutor Center. He was previously named the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Outstanding Junior and was recently designated the USU College of Engineering valedictorian.
