Pantelides Honored for Mentoring Students and as Outstanding Reviewer

Chris Pantelides, an MPC researcher at the University of Utah was recently honored for mentoring students and was selected as an Outstanding Reviewer for 2018 by the ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering.

Pantelides was selected by students as the Outstanding Mentor of the Year for 2018-2019 in the University of Utah Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The award recognizes a faculty member who provides outstanding assistance to students and helps them attain their career goals.

He was also recognized as a 2018 Outstanding Reviewer by the editor-in-chief of the ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering, one of the oldest and most respected professional journals in its field. Pantelides regularly reviews papers for the ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering, the Journal of Bridge Engineering and the Journal of Composites for Construction. He also serves as editor of the Journal of Construction and Building Materials.

Pantelides is a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT. He has been at the University of Utah since 1991. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla, and his bachelor's in civil engineering from the American University of Beirut.
