12.02.2014 | 762-050 PAVEMENT MARKING: If the Engineer and Contractor agree, plan quantity will be used as the measurement for payment for pavement marking items. Note for use when the pavement marking quantities are clearly defined and accurate. |
08.05.2015 | 762-150 PREFORMED PATTERNED PAVEMENT MARK - MESSAGE: Install messages a minimum of 2 weeks before the seal coat is applied. Immediately before sealing the area in which messages were placed, cover the markings with an adhesive coated paper liner. Install the liner as recommended by the pavement marking manufacturer. Apply spotting tabs to the ends of each liner. Remove the liner after the rolling operation has finished in the area the markings were covered. Dispose of liners as specified in Section 107.17, "Removed Material". Include the cost of covering markings and disposing of the liners in the contract unit price for "Preformed Patterned Pavement Mark – Message". Note should be used on seal projects when these types of markings are to be installed. |
10.16.2020 | 762-200 PERMANENT WATER BASED PAVEMENT MARKING: Replace the first paragraph of 762.04 C.2.a "Method of Application" with the following: Allow new bituminous treatment to cool to a temperature below 125 °F and cure for a period of 72 hours before applying permanent pavement marking. Use this note for Permanent Water Based Pavement Markings. Corrects a mistake in the 2020 Standard Specifications. This is for plans designed under the 2020 Standard Specifications Only. |
03.01.2024 | 762-210 PERMANENT WATER BASED PAVEMENT MARKING: Replace the first paragraph of 762.04 C.2.b "Rate of Application" with the following: Apply paint at a rate so that 1 gallon of paint will cover a 6 inch wide stripe for a length of 175 to 205 feet. Do not dilute paint, but the Engineer will allow a small quantity of naphtha thinner to flush out paint containers. Use this note for Permanent Water Based Pavement Markings. Updated to match the new standard of a 6 inch line for water based pavement markings. This is for plans designed under the 2020, 2022, and 2023 Standard Specifications only. |
