10.03.2014 | 420-100 RAILROAD CROSSING: Stop the application of seal oil and chips 50 feet on either side of the centerline of rail crossings. If the crossing contains multiple tracks, measure the distance from the centerline of the outermost tracks.
Use this note when seal coat work is adjacent to an at grade rail crossing. | 02.09.2017 | 430-100 HMA LONGITUDINAL JOINTS: Construct the joints within the final lift of pavement as detailed within this note.
Place a longitudinal joint at the centerline of the roadway.
Construct each lane and the adjoining shoulder using a single pass or a hot seam.
A hot seam is defined as follows:
- Constructed using two pavers simultaneously;
- No more than 300 feet between pavers; and
- Roll the seam between paver passes in a manner such that the seam is not visible.
