NDDOT Engineer


Joe is a NDDOT Transportation Engineer that works in partnership with UGPTI and NDSU. He assists in coordinating the engineering work activities at DOTSC. He also helps provide training and guidance to student design assistants on NDDOT policies and procedures as well as general highway design practices.

Engineering Experience

  • Project development of multiple types of highway design projects including:
    • Hot bituminous overlay
    • Interstate reconstruction
    • Interchange reconstruction
    • Rural grading and surfacing
    • Small urban reconstruction
  • Experience in construction engineering as an inspector and surveyor:
    • Hot bituminous overlay projects
    • Urban reconstruction
    • Interchange reconstruction
    • Seal coat projects
  • Experience in construction engineering as project engineer:
    • Seal coat projects
    • Hot bituminous overlays

Professional Development Goals

  • Provide student design assistants with useful skills and knowledge to entering the workforce
  • Use resources with the partnership of UGPTI and NDSU to continue to improve DOTSC program
  • Continue to evolve management/leadership skills
  • Obtain Professional Engineering certification
