Staff Bio![]() Post-Doc Research Specialist Phone: (701)231-1852 Email: prasanna.humagain@ndsu.edu Prasanna Humagain is a postdoc research specialist in the Upper Great Plain Transportation Institute. His research focuses on developing a comprehensive multistate, multimodal corridor planning model, focused on rail and intermodal freight, highway, and intercity rail passenger transportation. His research spans the areas of travel demand modeling, travel behavior, transportation planning, and tourists' behavior. He is also interested in understanding travelers' and tourists' perceptions and informing planning and policy measures for sustainable development, as well as designing policies suited to the upliftment of the physical and mental wellbeing of commuters. Prasanna's dissertation entails a holistic description of tourists' perceptions and behaviors during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Research Interests
