Research focuses on exploring factors that influence transportation safety in rural areas with the intent of identifying policies and practices that could improve safety for rural travelers. The center also conducts work to understand the risks and issues that are priorities for improving transportation security in rural areas. The research will serve as a foundation for work with stakeholders to conduct additional research, education, and outreach that will enhance quality of life through safer and more secure rural transportation.
