Commercial Vehicle Driver Associate Family Issues Assessment
This project examines the dissatisfaction of truck drivers associated with issues relating to the family. This dissatisfaction is seen as one major reason for high turnover rates in the trucking industry. The study determines the nature of the trucking family environment through questions asked of both the driver and their spouse/partner. Questions address work concerns, family concerns, decision-making, informational needs, communication, and leisure time. In addition, respondents are asked for tips they might give a new driver and his/her family about handling personal and family issues while the driver is away from home. This information will then be used to help determine programs of intervention and support useful for trucking companies.
