About the PartnershipHistoryIn 2015, the University of Modern Sciences in Dubai and North Dakota State University began exploring a possible relationship to enhance their research and academic programs. A memorandum of understanding was signed in May of that year, formalizing the process. Based on the success of the activities outlined in the memorandum of understanding, the two universities signed a memorandum of agreement in February 2016. Under the agreement, the universities formally entered into a collaborative research and professional workforce training partnership, focusing on bilateral cooperation in academic activity and scientific research. The universities will jointly develop and implement a research-based professional workforce training curriculum to explore and serve the needs of clientele both in the United Arab Emirates and in the United States. ScopeInitially, the joint effort will focus on transportation and logistics and emergency management, but the scope of the agreement may expand to include any discipline, center institute or combination of units at NDSU. |
