Educational efforts of the UGPTI range from short courses and seminars for practitioners to traditional graduate and undergraduate programs. What the programs have in common is the interdisciplinary and collaborative approach that the UGPTI brings to all of its programs. Students learn from faculty, policy makers and professionals who bring diverse expertise, perspectives and experience to the classroom.

Transportation & Logistics Ph.D. Program

In the Transportation and Logistics (TL) doctoral program students develop advanced knowledge and research skills in the rapidly growing fields of transportation and logistics. The doctoral program is a joint effort of the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, Natural Resources, the College of Business Administration, the College of Engineering & Architecture, and the UGPTI. The doctoral program consists of three main components: an interdisciplinary core curriculum of 25 credits, an area of concentration, and a dissertation.

Transportation Option in Agribusiness and Applied Economics / Civil Engineering

The NDSU Departments of Agribusiness and Applied Economics and Civil Engineering, in cooperation with the UGPTI, offer an interdisciplinary graduate option in multimodal transportation within their respective M.S. degree programs. This transportation option focuses on logistics, transportation economics, transportation engineering, and transportation planning. Courses include rural and non-rural transportation, logistics, statewide transportation planning, public transportation, and transportation administration.

Master of Military Logistics

The Master of Military Logistics (MML) is a 36 graduate credit professional degree program targeted specifically at career military officers, Department of Defense civilians, and defense industry contractors. The degree is tailored to the Department of Defense's strategic goals of joint officer development and logistics transformation. Because of its interdisciplinary and specialized nature, the MML degree offers a unique curriculum not found elsewhere. Currently, students are only being accepted by referral through the Department of Defense.

Transportation Learning Network

The Transportation Learning Network (TLN) is an interactive videoconferencing network among states in the western United States. The network links together the transportation departments (DOTs) in Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming and the Mountain-Plains Consortium universities of North Dakota State University, Colorado State University, University of Utah, and University of Wyoming.

TLN's mission is to support quality transportation through a network of people and technology that serves TLN members by enhancing communication, education, professional development, technology transfer, and research.
