Staff Bio

Dr. Ranjit Godavarthy began working with UGPTI's Small Urban and Rural Center of Mobility in 2012. His research areas include shared-use mobility, mobility-on-demand, automated/connected/electric vehicle technologies, multimodal transit research, travel behavior, traffic operations, transportation planning, and community livability. He received his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from Kansas State University in Civil Engineering majoring in Transportation Engineering.

Dr. Godavarthy is active in National Cooperative Highway Research Program activities, authored or co-authored 25+ journal articles and research reports, delivered 35+ presentations at international, national, and regional conferences/meetings, and actively involved in professional activities by serving in roles such as grant proposal reviewer, project oversight panel member, journal editorial board member, journal article reviewer, TRB AP055 paper review coordinator, TRB research committee member, etc.

Dr. Godavarthy is also an Assistant Professor in the Transportation, Logistics, and Finance (TLF) department at NDSU. In this academic role, he teaches multiple graduate level courses, chairs or serves on student's Master's and Ph.D. committees, serves as chair for TLF Program Committee, and engages in other department and college service activities.
